Privacy Policy

Last updated:

Website Legal Scope

It governs the Doserly website, its public content, and its website tools. It does not govern the Doserly mobile app, which will have its own separate legal terms and privacy disclosures.

Scope and controller identity

This Privacy Policy applies only to the Doserly website operated by Viking Media Labs Inc. (d/b/a Doserly), based in Ontario, Canada. It applies to doserly.com and the public pages, tools, forms, and content we make available through the website.

This Privacy Policy does not govern the Doserly mobile app. If we launch or operate app-specific services, those services will have their own privacy disclosures and terms.

Who this website is for

The website is intended for adults who are at least 18 years old or the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. We do not knowingly offer the website to children below that threshold.

Categories of personal information we collect

The categories of personal information we may collect depend on how you use the website. We currently do not offer website user accounts, checkout, or subscription billing through the website.

  • Contact and signup data you provide, such as your email address when you join our newsletter or contact us.
  • Communication data, such as the contents of messages you send to us and our responses.
  • Consent and preference data, such as newsletter consent scope, consent version, consent timestamp, cookie choices, unsubscribe status, and pseudonymous server-side consent event records associated with a consent identifier.
  • Device, browser, and usage data, such as page or route URL, referrer, browser type, operating system, device type, country-level or regional geolocation, timestamps, and performance information.
  • Security and reliability data, such as server logs, request metadata, rate-limit events, and error-monitoring data used to operate and secure the website.
  • Tool-use context, such as calculator disclaimer acknowledgement stored in your browser session.

Sources of personal information

  • Directly from you when you fill out a form, contact us, or opt in to website email updates.
  • Automatically from your browser, device, and interactions with the website.
  • From service providers that help us host, secure, monitor, deliver, or improve the website.

Why we use personal information

  • To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the website and its content, tools, and forms.
  • To provide calculator and educational experiences and to remember limited site-state preferences.
  • To process newsletter signups and send app availability updates, launch announcements, and closely related Doserly product updates.
  • To detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, fraud, spam, misuse, or technical issues.
  • To measure website traffic and performance and understand how the site is used where we have the right consent or another applicable basis.
  • To comply with law, enforce our website terms, and protect our rights, users, and services.

Website-only scope versus the mobile app

The Doserly website markets the Doserly mobile app and provides informational content and tools. Data collected through this website is handled under this Privacy Policy. Data collected through any future Doserly mobile app experience will be handled under app-specific privacy documents, not this website policy.

Cookies, similar technologies, analytics, and monitoring

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site-state functions and, where allowed, for analytics and monitoring. For a fuller description of the cookies and browser-side technologies we use, please review our Cookie Policy.

  • Strictly necessary site-state items include our consent requirement cookie, consent status cookie, consent version cookie, consent identifier cookie, and a sessionStorage acknowledgement used for the calculator disclaimer gate.
  • When you accept or decline non-essential browser tools, we may also create a pseudonymous server-side consent event record that includes the consent choice, consent version, timestamp, page or surface, and region-based consent requirement so we can administer and demonstrate website consent choices.
  • Where consent is required, we do not load non-essential browser analytics or browser monitoring until you affirmatively accept them.
  • Where consent is not required, optional analytics and browser monitoring may load by default unless you have explicitly declined them through our controls.

Service providers and processors

We use service providers to run the website. These providers may process personal information on our behalf for hosting, content delivery, analytics, monitoring, security, and communications support.

  • Vercel for hosting, runtime infrastructure, deployment, consent-region handling, and optional Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights.
  • Supabase for hosted database infrastructure and APIs used to store pseudonymous server-side website consent records and related operational data.
  • Sanity for content management, content APIs, and content delivery.
  • Sentry for server-side error monitoring and, when browser monitoring is enabled, browser-side error monitoring and privacy-protected session replay with masking and media blocking defaults.
  • OneSignal for newsletter signup processing and email-subscription management.

Newsletter signup handling

When you sign up through our website newsletter form, we use your email address to send app availability updates, launch announcements, and closely related Doserly product updates. We also store consent-related metadata such as the consent scope, consent version, consent timestamp, and the website page or surface where the signup occurred.

We do not use the current website signup flow as a general-purpose promotional account system, and joining the newsletter does not create a website user account. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe mechanism in the email.

No sale or sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising

We do not sell personal information. We also do not share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising or targeted advertising across third-party websites or services.

International transfers

Because we use service providers that operate in Canada, the United States, and other jurisdictions, personal information may be processed or stored outside your province, state, or country. Those jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from yours.

Your privacy choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent where consent is the basis we rely on. You may also always unsubscribe from website marketing emails.

If you are in California, we do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. If you are in the UK, EEA, Canada, Australia, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy rights, you may contact us about those rights using the contact details below.

Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is not a uniform industry standard for responding to these signals, the website does not currently respond to them with a separate technical workflow. Instead, we rely on our consent controls, our limited vendor set, and our policy commitments described in this Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to operate the website, maintain suppression and consent records, meet legal requirements, resolve disputes, and protect the website and our users.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to help protect personal information. No system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and you use the website at your own risk.

Children

The website is not directed to anyone under 18 or under the age of majority in their jurisdiction, whichever is greater. If you believe someone below that threshold has submitted personal information to us, contact us so we can review and address the issue.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. If we make a material change, we may also provide an additional notice where appropriate.
